Himmelssturz.

I'm reading Gregor Hens "Himmelssturz" at the moment - which fits well into my theme of pictures at the moment: up into the sky - fallen from the sky, something like that.

That's not the best possible shot from the former swimming pool at Prater, Berlin, but it's a start - working on it!

Marsupialia - bags for Beuteltiere

As you might have recognized on one of my last postings: I have a passion for colourful, remarkable bags. Fortunately there's a new store around the corner, who helps me with my addiction: Marsupialia.
Marsupialia, Beuteltiere, are two designers, Katrin and Barbara, who came to Berlin for their shop where they present special bags from all over the world. And they have special occasions (exhibitions) like today:
BerlinmeetsBrussels
Vernissage starts at 11 o' clock at Beuteltiere, Raumerstraße 19, 10437 Berlin - hope to see you there!

Vote for Verlagsstarter!

As you might know already, we -that's my partner, me and a bunch of friends- are building up a publishing house. Publishing house meaning books but books meaning not only books. We spent too much time surfing not to recognize the greatness of the open access --> open everything culture of the web and are really trying to involve the concept and finding something which pays of all contributors nevertheless.
Alright, whats the topic. What happened: we got nominated. We got nominated by Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra, stART09 conference and Upload Magazine for stART.hilfe - if we succeed, we'd have enough to start our first interactive project / book.

So, what's there to do: please visit the poll and vote for Verlagsstarter (thats our name until we have our logo finished...)

The concerts of the orchestra with which they contribute to one web 2.0 culture project will take place on wednesday and thursday, voting is possible till 2nd june.

Book Bag from Bogota via Basel

Visiting friends close to Basel 10 days ago we had the chance to check out the "shopping zone" of this lovely place before falling asleep on the Rhine terrace ;-) - due to deadlines and a very early flight we didn't sleep the night before our holiday started. But it was worth it! Strolling through the little streets we found a very nice place for coffee and "kipferl" and this incredible bag:

Well doesn't that look like a

lifejacket, yes that's it and I brought it to Berlin - just in case we have more strong rain like today...
We found it at a very nice store called Primecut, designed by dci arte in Bogotá. If you ever visit Basel, check it out!
(second best thing: i got it for free - but thats another story :-)
